C-Series Cloud
Waitlist openC-Series on a machine of its own, secured and patched by us.
We set up a machine for your Host: a virtual machine on a server we run, rented from OVHcloud. We install C-Series on it and hold its network security posture: what may reach it, what it may reach, and how it stays patched. Nothing of Privatae's sits in front of it but that server.
Servers in the United States · Your own model keys · You hold the disk key · Billed monthly or weekly
The network security posture
Set on every machine before you get it, and held while you keep it.
- Its own front doorEach machine has its own door, built into the machine, that asks who you are before your Host answers. There is no shared entrance that every customer depends on.
- What may come inThe firewall turns away everything inbound except the Host's door, where its unlock page also answers, and the lane your own paired machines use, which is open only while the machine is unlocked. The SSH server is removed before the machine is handed over.
- What may go outContainers on the machine are kept off private networks, and you set what your Host may reach on the internet.
- PatchedSecurity updates install by themselves, and the Host updates from signed releases. When an update needs a restart, your machines page says so; you restart it from your Host and unlock it with your passkey or your recovery key.
- Reports outwardUpdates and health reports run on the machine and report outward. Nothing of ours connects in to it, and with its SSH server removed, nobody can log in to the machine itself over the network.
- Your models, on your keysYour Host uses the model providers you choose, under your own keys. We charge for the machine and its upkeep. We don't sell model usage.
- Your disk keyYour Host's data is on an encrypted volume that, once you set up your machine, only your passkey or your recovery key opens. We hold no copy of either. After any restart the machine waits for you to unlock it. If you lose both keys, nobody can recover the data.
- An access log you can readYour machines page lists, newest first, what Privatae did on your machine after we handed it to you and the operations our provider recorded on it. Every sign-in to the server your machine runs on is listed too, apart from the two accounts our own automated programs use. Each of our actions says whether a program, an AI agent or a person did it, except a sign-in at that server's console or with a key we have not named, which says we have not named who, and a restart of that server for maintenance, which says only that Privatae restarted it.

What we can reach
What we can reach on your machine.
What we can reach
- The server your machine runs on, a server we rent from OVHcloud, and that server's console. They reach the machine's disk, where your Host's data is encrypted under your keys, and, while it runs unlocked, its memory, which holds the key that opens the disk and what your Host is working on. We use them that way only to recover a machine that cannot recover itself.
- Backups of the machine's disk: we take none. Your Host takes its own encrypted backups once you give it a backup recovery key; until then it takes none. It keeps them on the machine unless you choose other storage in its settings.
- The heartbeat each machine sends every five minutes. We keep only the latest one. When it reports that the machine restarted and is waiting for you to unlock it, or that it was unlocked, that is added to your access log.
- Your machine's setup code, until the machine reports its setup finished. Then we delete it.
- Your account email and your billing records with Stripe.
- The signed updates your machine installs. Each one is code that runs on your machine, is signed, and comes from open source.
What we cannot
- An SSH login. The SSH server is removed before the machine is handed over, with every key that could sign in through it.
- A network connection into it. The heartbeat goes out from the machine; nothing of ours connects in.
- Your sign-in and your disk keys. You unlock your machine with a passkey on its own unlock page, and you download your recovery key yourself. Neither is ever sent to us. Your machines page sends the setup code to your machine when you press Set up your machine; it is never shown to you.
- Your model requests on the network. They go from the machine to the model provider you pick, under your own key, and through no service of ours.
OVHcloud, the provider we rent the servers from, runs the hardware and the data centre.
Billing
How it is billed.
- Billed monthly, on the 1st
- Billed on the 1st; your first payment is prorated to the next 1st. Bare metal adds the provider's setup fee once.
- Or weekly
- Weekly billing is charged in advance, a full week at a time, from the day you order and then on the same day each week. Every size ordered online can be billed weekly.
- Cancel any time
- Cancelling stops the machine's billing at once. The unused part of the period you paid for goes onto your account as credit, which is taken off your next payments to Privatae. The machine is then stopped and wiped after a short grace period. Cancelling refunds no payment: the setup fee is not credited, and credit on your account cannot be paid out except as Section 12.3 of our Terms says. After a failed payment the machine keeps running while the card is retried for up to 7 days, and then it is cancelled and not restarted, even if you pay later.
- A machine we don't hand over
- A machine that fails before we hand it over to you, or that we have not handed over within 72 hours of your payment, is cancelled, and that payment is refunded in full, automatically.
- Price changes at renewal
- If we change our prices, including when our provider raises the price of a bare-metal server, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you 30 days before.
- A bigger size
- Ask for a bigger size from your machines page. We confirm the new price with you by email before anything changes.
- Support is by email
- Write to [email protected]. There is no phone line and no round-the-clock desk.
- No model credits
- Your Host uses your own keys with the model providers. We charge for the machine and its upkeep. We don't sell model usage.
